Christmas

This is a special blog where I will be discussing about Christmas, since it's just a days away...:D
Before anything, I want to ask you about what's the climax of a birthday celebration? Yes, of course it's the 'pin-the-tail on the donkey' game, but aside from that, it's the cake isn't it? Okay, moving on...

So, what is Christmas?

Well, when I was a child, people used to say that Christmas is the time for giving, sharing, loving and etc. But is it really about that? Well, Is it about Santa (Childish) ? Santa doesn't even exist... -_-

There might be some idiot who'll say "Oh, I know, it's when Jesus was born!", and yet you do not even follow your traditions for a normal birthday. You claim that that day was the day Jesus was born (This is just a date set by the Roman Catholic Church, it isn't really precise and accurate) but you haven't even done anything to prove to anyone ESPECIALLY to God that you really are remembering His birthday...

Some of you may say that I'm against Christmas and like I'm not in to the holiday spirit. That's because there is no holiday spirit(Well, there is anyway) and being festive and abounding in love for the wrong reason is just plain stupidity. This should be the day when we remember Christ and how God sent Him to become the Saviour of a worthless world that shunned even it's own Saviour...

Did you know that gift giving was based on Revelations when the prophet was killed and people rejoiced and started exchanging gifts? Well, I'm not really sure if that's the truth, but still, my point is people tend to do what their forefathers did without discerning if what their progenitors did were actually biblically based. Not that Jesus' birth date was in the Bible, but you get the point don't you?

Now, I've been receiving messages via Facebook and cellphone saying "Merry Christmas". What they should be saying is "Today's Jesus' B-day!". Yet I don't hear that, I'm very disturb when I see people being misguided and being deceived o what Christmas really is. Especially television shows portraying the true meaning of Christmas without Christ. Well, without Christ you have 'mas' and that word means "not asked of God" (because 'sam' means asked of God). So where do YOU get the gall to greet "Merry Christmas" when you haven't even greeted Jesus "Happy Birthday"??

Note that I'm not insulting you, I'm just saying what is really the truth. If you blindly reject this message, well, you blindly reject the message but I urge you to read again and think for a moment before deciding.

Biblical Evangelism

Question: If you are out of sugar, what would you do?
I asked three different people and got three different answers. Let me hide these people with a prefix 'guy' (Because i am that creative):

Guy1: Get more? (Obvious much?)
Guy2: I'll steal more... (A wise choice)
Guy3: I'll never run out of sugar just as long as you're with me because you're so sweet..^^ (<-- imbecile  -_-)

Why was that their (except guy3) answers?
Naturally because they needed more sugar. They sought the sugar not because they had enough (duh?!), it's because they didn't have sugar.

Similarly, if a sinner doesn't understand why he needs to be saved, he wouldn't accept the savior unless he did it for fun a.k.a. "trip2x",which is just for fun in Aramaic and "lingaw-lingaw" in Hebrew.

Telling him about hell and the fact that he needs to be saved would just insult him because your insinuating that he's done something wrong when he doesn't think he has (nobody likes tattletales). He'll start to claim that compared to others who rape and murder (these people are called rapderers, it's in the wehbster dictionary), he's a saint. Next, he will talk about all the good things he has done, like giving money to the church and in what charities he donates to. Later in my next blogs, I will post a blog about money...:D

We can't beat the bush and keep telling him about Jesus this and Jesus that. He'll become irritated and come to hate your preachings even more because nobody likes a boring speaker except for apostle Paul, he's a boring preacher but he happens to be my idol of all the people in the Bible ( Of course, excluding Jesus..:D).

So how do we preach to other people? By using the law of course! It was made for that very purpose, to tell us of our sin. It is God's basis for righteousness or rather sin anyway ( I'm sure get my point). Remember that biblical evangelism is all about breaking the hard heart with the Law and healing it with the Gospel. Once someone acknowledges that he has sinned against God, then you would have succeeded.

Note that it's not just that the Law is very important that I'm always emphasizing it, there's also a very personal reason that I will divulge in my fourth blog. So my rule is that every 4th blog I will say something about myself, So I would be less enigmatic..:D

Moving on...

A guy who does piracy would not be able to defend himself if you show him the Law, more specifically the eight commandment (Thou shalt not steal). It speaks for itself. I mean you were told to not steal and you still stole, in that way, the sinner does not understand that what he is doing is wrong to GOD and not to man, although it is wrong to the one you stole from but hey, my point is that you sinned against God. The prodigal son said "I have sinned against heaven". When David hit the grand slam by breaking every law, he said "I have sinned against God". By the way, he never did say sorry to Uriah did he? lol...:D   (Don't know this story? Read the Old testament and yeah I was paid). I will give you a memory verse so you will better understand my point.

Romans 3:19-20

19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

You can't justify your sins (Even minor ones) and just like the verse says, your mouth will be silenced. Unless of course, if you do not believe in God and in the ten commandments. Note that Muslims believe in Moses and the ten commandments (See where I'm going?). So if you start preaching to someone, ask them first if they believe in God and the ten commandments. Don't forget to pray first! :D

Remember that 1/3 of the word Gospel is 'go' and 1/2 of God is 'go'. So go (i'm getting sick of this word) now, and break their hearts with the Law and heal them with Jesus' soothing message.

Hell's best kept secret

Fact: Up to 80-90 percent of people deciding to accept Christ backslide.

This is an obvious effect of modern evangelism. Modern evangelism tells us that if we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we will have peace, love, joy and fulfillment in life. Is that true? or untrue? Let me explain why, in the first place we need a 'Saviour' or a 'Messiah' as the Jews called Him.

When Adam and Eve sinned against God, they forfeited everything they had and was forced to leave the garden of Eden. Eve soon bore a son, thus passing down the original sin. Years and years passed and people sinned and sinned. Let's pause awhile here.

So what is sin? Is sin determined by what people (By people I include even good people. ) think is bad? Is saying bad words bad (Is this redundant? ^^)? What are bad words? What justifies wrong actions? Who decides what is right and wrong? Why am I asking so many questions?

Let me answer the first question.

In Romans 7:7, Paul said: "I have not known sin, but by the law".What then is the law? The ten commandments, of course!

If you don't know  the ten commandments (which I doubt) here it is:

1. Thou shalt not have any other gods besides me.
2. Thou shalt not make for thyself any graven image.
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
4. Remember to keep the Sabbath holy.
5. Honor thy mother and father.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness.
10. Thou shalt not covet.

So, did you commit any of these? You'll probably say that you haven't committed some of these, like number six and seven, I mean come on, you're a murderer and a rapist!? However, I will illustrate them in my next blogs. Bottom line is you committed atleast one if not all of them EVERYDAY.

So if you face God on judgement day, will you be innocent or guilty? Even a child should know the answer, hahaha (no, not really). You're guilty of course! You will go to hell and suffer for all eternity. You will pay for your sins justly because you have broken the law. I am not going to say this again or atleast I'm not going to repeat this over and over again because I don't want to discourage you and make you afraid, but if you have sinned you will go to hell... So everybody's going to hell?

Nay (I always wanted to use this word, ^^). Let us read John 3:16:

For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life.

Two thousand years earlier, Jesus Christ died for our sins, so that whoever puts his faith on Him, shall be guilty no longer. This is why, He is a Saviour and our Messiah. If you are curious about this, I suggest you start reading the gospel of John... (yes, i was paid to advertise the gospel of john)

So, everybody's going to say: "I know that already". But do you know why you should follow Christ? It is because He gave His life for you and all you do is "go to church". You think you are saved because you are always present in church and you do all the gibberish that the world says are good but there is no salvation if there is no repentance. I'll give you an illustration:

Two men are on board a plane en route to (uhhhm...) Gotham City (I like batman). So there they sit on their respected seats and suddenly someone gives passenger A a parachute and tells  him that it would improve his flight. So wondering, how a parachute would improve his flight (it really doesn't, trust me, i tried.:D), he puts it on just to thirst his curiosity. So what does he get? Of course, everyone laughs at him and calls him names and stuff (Of course, people laugh at him, who wears a parachute on a plane?!). The weight of the parachute bothers him and he can't sit comfortably. That's why, after a few moments, being tired of all his misery, takes off the parachute, cursing it for ruining his flight.

Now there was another person who gave passenger B a parachute. But listen or rather read on as to what he was told. He told passenger B that later on, he'll be jumping out of the plane! 25,000 ft! That's higher than my refrigerator! So of course he puts on the parachute and no matter how hard people laugh at him, he clings on to the parachute because he knows what will happen if he doesn't. As a matter of fact, he even shares to everybody in the plane to get a parachute because of that jump.

So, you get my point? Believing in Jesus Christ doesn't make our lives easier or more comfortable anyway, actually it makes our lives filled with persecutions and trials(only lawyers like trials), but in everything He is there to help us. There are three (this is debatable; not my point anyway) kinds of people there:

1. The one who doesn't want to wear the parachute.
2. The one who wears the parachute.
3. The one who knows that persecution will come if he wears the parachute and decides to wear the parachute when the jump comes.

Number three is the most important. Are you number three? or number 2? If you are number 1, please follow my blogs, and I will help you through your problems...:D

P.S. Sorry if this blog was so long, I'll try to shorten my blogs next time, since nobody in our present day likes reading anything long (it reminds them of school..:D)

I acknowledge that this message is primarily adapted from Ray Comfort's message.
